ADAGIO (Italian): At ease. A slow movement is often called an 'adagio' BRIO (Italian): Vigour, spirit, fire. 'Con Brio', spiritedly. In a dance world dominated by 'steps', Carlos Gavito fabricated the 'intentional pause'. The passing away of this authentic Tango Master marks a great loss for the Tango Argentino community all over the world as his unique style reached beyond the illusion of Tango Argentino cliches. In this piece the passion of Tango Argentino merges with the athletics of Contact Improvisation and the subliminal Japanese Butoh, investigating 'distance'.
